The school year has three (3) snow days built into it. If we exceed three snow days, then we will need to make up lost instructional time. Outlined below are the proposed days and manner in which we will make up any snow days beyond the three (3) planned snow days.
- Snow Event 1 – built into the school calendar
- Snow Event 2 – built into the school calendar
- Snow Event 3 – built into the school calendar
Additional Snow Events
If we exceed three snow days before February 17, 2017 then we will have school on:
- February 20
- April 21 (if needed)
- April 20 (if needed)
If we exceed three snow days after February 17, 2017,
- And we have only one day to make up, then we will have school on June 26, 2017.
- And we have exactly two days to make up, then we will have school on
- April 20 & 21
- But we will not add days on to the end of the school year.
- And we have three or four days to make up, then we will have school
- April 18 – April 21
- But not add days on to the end of the school year.
- And we have five or more days to make up, then we will have school on
- April 18 – April 21 AND
- We will add days on to the end of the school year as needed.
Delay the End of School
If we need to add days on to the end of the school year, then the last day of school will be pushed back to June 26 or later and final exams will also be moved back. If you are planning an end-of-year vacation, please allow for the possibility that exams and the last day of school may be delayed. No student will be permitted to take final exams early or late to accommodate changes in the schedule made because of excessive snow days. Please plan accordingly.
What Happens If We Have No Snow?
The last day of school for the 2016-2017 academic year is June 23, 2017. If we do not use our three planned snow days, we will we eliminate days from the school calendar as follows:
- Unused Snow Day 1 – The last day of school moves to June 22, 2017 and final exams move to June 16, 19-21.
- Unused Snow Day 2 – The last day of school moves to June 21, 2017 and final exams move to June 15, 16, 19, & 20.
- Unused Snow Day 3 – The last day of school moves to June 20, 2017 and final exams move to June 14-16, & June 19.
